[Barça B; Liga Adelante; Week29] FC Barcelona B 3 - 2 Alcorcón

Barça B beats Alcorcón, the surprise team in second division, as they climb to the 11th spot in the table with 29 points.

A goal from Kiko Femenía, two from Sergi Roberto and spectacular performance from Oier allowed Eusebio’s team to break their streak of four matches without winning and three without scoring.

Barça B only needed a couple of minutes to score this Sunday. Seven minutes into the game, Kiko Femenía beat Manu Herrera with a magnificent right-footed shot to open up the scoring against Alcorcón. It was a valuable goal for the team led by Eusebio Sacristán, and Oier made sure that his team remained in front with two fantastic saves. The first chance was a one on one against Borja, the second, on 34 minutes, saw Oier deny Quini. To the delight of the spectators in the stands, and perhaps less so for the managers, the first 45 minutes of the match were electric and intense.

Femenía had a chance to make it 2-0 but Alcorcón’s keeper saved his attempt. Rafinha and Dos Santos also boasted chances, but neither were on target.

At the start of the second half, Rafinha tried his luck again from outside the box with no luck. However, his teammate, Sergi Roberto, made sure to make it 2-0 after taking advantage of an excellent assist from Deulofeu (min. 49).

Just as in the first, Oier played an important role. He did well to save an attempt from Montañés to keep Barça two goals up. Anquela brought in Riera and Saúl, two offensive minded players, to try and change the course of the game. The substitutes didn’t have an impact on the match until after Sergi Roberto controlled a cross from Riverola and volleyed the ball into the back of the net.

On 75 minutes, Paco Montañés, ex-La Masia player, scored the first goal for Alcorcón with a beautifully struck shot that beat Oier at the right post. A minute later, Oriol Riera had a great chance to score the second but his shot went wide. In stoppage time, Saúl, a Barça player on loan to Alcorcón, scored the second.

In the end, Barça B managed to stave off the onslaught to win the three points to the delight of the fans, amongst whom was Sandro Rosell, to close out a fantastic night of football at the Miniestadi. (via FCBarcelona.com)
