Alves joins team-mates in training

The Brazilian international continues to nurse a sore left thigh muscle but was able to work alongside his team-mates for part of Monday’s training session. However, Piqué exercised away from the main group.

Guardiola continued his preparations for the Getafe match with the first team squad plus Bartra, Montoya, Tello and Muniesa from the reserves.

The players trained on Monday afternoon ahead of Tuesday’s Camp Nou clash with Getafe (9 pm). Dani Alves, who picked up a slight thigh strain in the game against Zaragoza, was able to follow part of the session with the other players. The Brazilian was one of 18 available first-team players who took part in the session together with Ibrahim Afellay, who is still working his way back to fitness.

Meanwhile, Gerard Piqué trained separately from the group as part of his recovery from a thigh problem.

Four members of the Barça B squad, Bartra, Montoya, Tello y Muniesa, also took part in the session.

The final training session before the game will be held behind closed doors in the Camp Nou at 12 noon on Tuesday. (via FCBarcelona.com)
