[Selection] Messi 'causes' a claim to the Federation of Costa Rica

A fan sued the Costa Rican Football Federation for their country "misleading advertising" by not being able to see Lionel Messi play when Argentina played in San José last year.

Gustavo Esquivel's attorney filed the application with the Office of the Consumer, which accused the Federation have announced the presence of a class for Argentina, including FC Barcelona player Leo Messi, according to local media reports.

The Barça player was not ranked in the match played in late March 2011, crash that marked the inauguration of the modern national football stadium built in the Costa Rican capital of China for donation. On that occasion, it was argued that Messi had been injured.

In that game ranked no other star players from Argentina, as Esteban Cambiasso, Javier Zanetti and Angel di Maria, although they were part of the form that came to Costa Rica.

The Office of the Consumer has the right to Esquivel, he said the local newspaper 'La Teja' and a radio. However, the Football Association on Friday filed an appeal.

Esquivel has tried to make back the money for three tickets purchased at a price of 234,000 colones (about 380 euros) and to punish the Federation for violation of consumer law.

The respective office reported the resolution to the city last Tuesday. The Consumer Ombudsman referred a similar complaint filed by another citizen who said he felt "cheated," said a spokeswoman for the agency. (via SPORT)
