Jordi Cruyff has been named sports director of Maccabi of Tel Aviv, said Friday the Israeli club.
Cruyff, who will be officially unveiled at a press conference on Sunday, "will make a valuable contribution to efforts to strengthen the club," says the press release Maccabean Club.
The new coach of Maccabi, Israel's first division, started his playing career at Barcelona, and has gone to Manchester United, Celtic, Deportivo Alavés and Espanyol, among other equipment.
For several months, Maccabi was interested in him for the role he has played the last two years as head coach of Larnaca, Cypriot first team who got to qualify for the group stage of the Europa League.
"Maccabi is a special club with great tradition and I am sure that with hard work and good decisions build something that the team and fans are proud," said Cruyff. (via SPORT)
