The Barça B manager said that his team is confident ahead of the match at the Miniestadi this Saturday against Numancia. “Numancia is a team with committed players that never give up, they will make it complicated for us”.
Matchday 19 of the Liga Adelante will see Barça B host Numancia this Saturday at 16.00. The first game of the year at the Miniestadi will pit two teams in the middle of the table against each other. A victory for Eusebio’s men, who currently lie in 14th place, would allow Barça B to climb above Numancia in the table. “Numancia is a very consistent team in this League and that means they’ve done things correctly over the years,” said Eusebio Sacristán.
The Barça B manager hopes his team will improve their at-home form in Saturday’s match: “It’s a matter of having patience. We must be more calm and not agonize over it. Teams usually come here with a defensive mentality. We must be confident and focus on ourselves.” Eusebio notes that “after the bad start to the season, the team is much more confident and they know what’s required of them. The room we have to improve is big, and we can aspire to anything ... the second half of the season is going to be very exciting,” said Sacristán.
Barça B will take on Numancia with the addition of a completely match-fit Gustavo Ledes, who was given the medical all clear this Thursday. Carles Planes, with a muscle strain, will miss the match. Kiko Femenía, who is dealing with a niggling ankle injury, has not been ruled out.
The prize of playing for the first team
Eusebio is happy about the fact that many of his footballers have had playing time with the first team this season: “It’s a positive thing. They enjoy it and they’re very motivated. For us it’s great, because there’s a prevailing feeling that at any moment one of them could be called up (to the first team).” (via FCBarcelona.cat)
