Pep Guardiola has given Leo Messi permission to extend his Christmas holidays for a few days. Dani Alves is the other player who will join the squad a couple of days late, on the 31st of December.
Messi will be able to enjoy a few more days holiday after Pep Guardiola gave him permission to return to Barça on Monday, January 2nd. So, Barca's number 10 will not return on December 29th, the day the squad is due to resume training after the Christmas break. Last Monday, when Barça came home after the World Club Championships, Messi and the rest of the South American players, plus Abidal and Keita, began their Christmas break.
Alves will not be at training on December 29th either, as he also has permission to extend his holidays. The Brazilian will return to work on December 31st. It's worth remembering that Alves, although he could have started his holidays on Monday, trained with the rest of his teammates, on Wednesday, in preparation for the Spanish Cup match against Hospitalet.
